KHOLUI, lacquer papier-mache miniatures. Kholui is among the most ancient villages in the Vladimir-Suzdal area. Legend has it that arts and crafts were practiced in these parts from as early as the time of the Tatar-Mongol invasion. One of the greatest European centers for such items was Johann Stobwasser's manufactory in Braunschweig. Short biographies of gzhel artist

Rosanov Valentin Geljevich Born in 1955 in Klin Moscow district. In 1974 graduated from the Abramtsevo Industrial Art School. Since 1975 works at "Gzhel" Association. The author of tea-sets, vases, jugs, "kvas"-sets. He worked much on designing lamps, chandeliers, candle-sticks, wall plates, clocks, jugs, boxes, vases for butter, powder-cases, decorative vases, tea-pots, tea-sets, "samovars", cheese-boards, sets for salads, for kitchen, etc. V.G. Rosanov is the permanent participant of domestic and international exhibitions, awarded with different diplomas and medals. His works are presented in GRM, VMDPI, GIM, MNI, MOKM, ZGIHM, MO "Gzhel", etc.
