KHOLUI, lacquer papier-mache miniatures. Kholui is among the most ancient villages in the Vladimir-Suzdal area. Legend has it that arts and crafts were practiced in these parts from as early as the time of the Tatar-Mongol invasion. In the 1230-40s the highly developed urban culture of Northeastern Russia was almost wiped out by the Tatar-Mongol hordes. One of the greatest European centers for such items was Johann Stobwasser's manufactory in Braunschweig. Dunashova Tatyana Sergeevna Born in 1921in the village of Turigino, Moscow district. Since 1935 worked in the painting studio of "Vpered, ceramica" Association ("Forward, ceramics") and since 1937 in the united association called "Decorative Ceramics". Participated in World War II. Since 1946 worked in the painting studio of the Turigino Porcelain Plant, since 1972 as a painter of "Gzhel" Association. The member of the Union of Artists. The laureate of the State prize of the RSFSR named after Repin. The Honoured Artist of the RSFSR. The veteran of labor, awarded with silver and bronze medals of the Exhibition of People's Economy Achievements and the diploma of the Union of Artists. The author of vases, cases, tea-sets and coffee-sets, sets for serving pancakes and eggs, toilet boxes, chandeliers, etc. The participant of domestic and international exhibitions.
