
 Short biographies of gzhel artists Avdonin Vasily Ivanovich Born in 1930 in the village of Khovanshina, Penza district. In 1949 graduated from the Art school at the Dmitrov Porcelain Plant (specialized in painting). Worked as painter at the Kuzajevsky Porcelain Plant. Since 1976 works at "Gzhel" Association. Participated in republican and district art exhibitions. The author of the tea-set, cheese-boards, chandeliers, sets for serving "pelmeny"(Russian national dish) and soft drinks etc. V.I. Avdonin was awarded with the diploma and the bronze medal of the Exhibition of People's Economy Achievements. He was given the honourary title "The artist of the highest class".
