Legend has it that arts and crafts were practiced in these parts from as early as the time of the Tatar-Mongol invasion. One of the greatest European centers for such items was Johann Stobwasser's manufactory in Braunschweig. Simonov Sergej Michailovich Born in 1958 in Mozdok. In 1984 graduated from the Abramtsevo Industrial Art School, specialized in bone carving. Since 1984 works at "Gzhel" Association. His favourite occupation is the search of original forms. The author of vases, jugs, special prizes for international sports competitions, cases, clocks, etc. The member of the Union of Young Artists organized under the authority of MOSH RSFSR. His works are presented in GRM, GIM, MNI, ZGIHM, MO "Gzhel".
